ThePGA Tour of China has been extended to 13 tournaments for this year.
The tour has been made up of 12 events since its inception in 2014 but an additional tournament for this year was announced last month.
The tour is divided into two segments. The first half of the tour was conducted between May and July with the staging of six tournaments.
The second half of the tour begins at the end of this month, but instead of there being six events, there will be seven.
One of the biggest attractions of the tour is that the order of merit winner gains full status on the following year’s Web.com Tour in the United States. Those that finish second to fifth gain conditional status to the same tour.
The highest-placed New Zealander on the order of merit at this stage is Daniel Pearce from Hawke’s Bay. He is 13th.
Last year he finished 14th while fellow New Zealander Josh Geary was second and is now on the Web.com Tour.
