Northland Women's Champion of Champions

 

Northland golfer Sam Dangen once again proved to be hard to beat when she produced two fine rounds of golf at the Northland Champion of Champions held at Waitangi. After her morning round of one under par, Dangen found herself only in second place after Waipu’s KylieJacobson shot two under. However Dangen was able to take out the overall 36hole gross with a fine 74 in the afternoon to take out the 36 hole gross event.Dangen was ably assisted by her club bronze champions Val Moffat and Trudy Nikora from the Whangaroa Golf Club to win the overall women’s champion teams title- the Iris Farrell Rosebowl with a total of 118 points. Runner up and only two points behind was Waipu Golf Club with Margaret Pennington and Julie Gordon linking with Kylie Jacobson. Kaitaia Golf Club finished in third place.At the prize giving at the conclusion of the days play, Sam Dangen was also presented with her prize for winning the New Zealand Golf Home Links Competition held throughout the country. Another achievement to top off a great year.
